FALLing in love at Cox Arboretum MetroPark with Derek! It’s sweater weather in Dayton, Ohio, and although I’m a beach girl, you can’t deny the beauty of true autumn.
There are moments as an author when I reread my work and hate every word. And other times that I actually give myself the feels… “He raised his other hand and cupped her cheek. The supple leather of his glove was smooth on her jaw. He swiped a calloused thumb across her lower lip. She leaned in, and he met her halfway, the pressure of his mouth against hers like crystalline water: flooding her senses, buoying her spirit, catching her fall. Delicious. Essential. Elemental. Five long years of imagining what might have been came to light.” https://bit.ly/Grave-Promises
The photo behind the cover of Beyond the Next Star!! The expression on both their faces perfectly represents the mood I was trying to convey for this book – and it gives me the tingles every time! I can’t thank Covers By Robin enough for making this cover come to life!
Whether I’m reading or writing them, helping or getting help from a friend to edit them, day dreaming about them or crying over them – books are love.

Everyone has things to do, and who doesn’t like to write them down? I’ve given pens away for a while…but the sticky notes are new!! Remember your “to do” in night blood style LOL!
The haunting of a past love or a present ghost – which would you rather face? In my story, Grave Promises, my characters are forced to confront both! No surprise there – if you’ve read my other books, you know how I love to put my characters through the wringer.
I can’t help myself – I LOVE matching bookmarks! ❤️ https://bit.ly/Grave-Promises

I hope you’re taking a moment to enjoy this Labor Day with family, friends, and a load off from the usual grind, but when it’s back to business tomorrow, my best advise to getting started on a first book is to get excited about an idea or character – and just start writing. And don’t stop until your story is done. As the greats have said before me, you can’t edit a blank page.
